    Candidate will ensure communications information is available to forward deployed forces supporting continuing mission requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD) by providing support to communications systems acquisition, integration, installation, operations & maintenance (O&M) in support of USAFCENT deployed mission requirements. There is no specification or limitation to the actual tasks to be performed. Candidate will work as part of a team and must display a rigorous work ethic and possess the initiative and independent thinking to thrive in a dynamic environment. Candidate must have the ability to engineer, install and maintain network equipment to support new and emerging requirements. The candidate shall provide responsive services to include real-time network-level configuration control, network restoration, quality control and performance standards, status reporting, MSL, and other actions required by policies, responsibilities and operational support to all NOSC deployed projects.



    Minimum of six (6) years of “hands on” work experience in support of communications electronic systems or equipment. Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, understands Internet Protocol (IP) routing and architecture design and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks. Minimum of six (6) years of engineering experience in the following areas:

    • RF Communications
    • Satellite Communications
    • Microwave



    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Military Communication.



    The candidate will provide RF engineering support of primary and auxiliary equipment to include, but not limited to:

    • Conventional and trunk LMR Systems/Equipment
    • HF/UHF/VHF Radio Systems/Equipment
    • Antenna systems
    • Combiner systems
    • Radio over IP systems/equipment
    • EMNS Systems
    • Transmission Lines
    • Microwave Equipment
    • Additional equipment to be defined
    • The candidate will provide RF engineering support to perform customary duties to include, but not limited to:
    • Perform and document site surveys to support RF ground-to-ground, ground-to-air, Giant Voice and LMR communications
    • Assist in the creation of project support agreements (PSAs) to include specifications for allied support, other minor construction or facility upgrades and tools and test equipment requirements
    • Assist in the preparation of working engineering project packages for installation teams with installation instructions, sketches, and LOMs
    • Brief commanders on plans and/or status of projects
    • Develop technical solutions to meet approved requirements
    • Develop and execute cutover plans to integrate newly installed infrastructure. The cutover plans shall provide, when possible and practical, a seamless cutover of services from the old to the new infrastructure and systems
    • Provide input and maintain a continuity book monthly to include location of soft copy files on the following information: PSAs, project packages, local and USAFCENT points of contact (POCs), technical references, etc.
    • Provide radio engineering support to include: installation, startup, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of radio equipment
    • Provide training as required to military and contractor communications personnel
    • Act as a consultant on issues related to radio capabilities. When requested, review drawings as required and provide comments concerning communications requirements and attend design and review meetings.
    • Perform all task under LMR Support and provide training as required to Military and Contractor LMR personnel
    • Perform RF Spectrum Surveys
    • Develop RF coverage maps and reports
    • Identify RF interference issues and provide engineering solutions
    • Perform periodic maintenance on RF equipment as required by USAFCENT A6. The contractor shall check, optimize and repair RF equipment to ensure operation is within the manufacturer’s specification
    • Travel to other USAFCENT locations at the direction of the Government to provide this support as required 


    • Active Defense (DoD) security clearance at SECRET or TOP SECRET / SCI level is required
    • US Citizenship is required
    • Valid United States passport required
    • Cisco certifications below required
    • Must have a high school diploma
    • Experience using computer systems and Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Ability to accurately document routine work and while troubleshooting problems
    • Well-developed oral and written communications skills



    • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/electronics/computer engineering from an accredited university required


    TRAVEL: Up to 25%



    Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in SPIN-C. The candidate is expected to have, but is not limited to, the following IT certificate:
