Serves as a Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC) Forensic Exploitation Directorate (FXD) Forensic Technical Representative (FTR) in support of United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), Miami, FL. The FTR will provide forensic knowledge, expertise and advice to SOUTHCOM staff concerning collection, preservation and exploitation of material.  Provides subject matter expertise on Forensic Exploitation Capabilities. Integrate forensic standards and capabilities between SOUTHCOM and Partner Nations (PNs), while representing DFSC-FXD’s capabilities.


  • Serve as a conduit for feedback and lessons learned to FXD from SOUTHCOM leadership and Key Leadership Engagements.
  • Facilitate "reach back" forensic exploitation support through the FXD Global Forensic Exploitation Center (GFXC) and information sharing between DFSC-FXD and SOUTHCOM staff.
  • Maintain familiarization with FXD forensic exploitation capabilities, processes and equipment, and understanding of biometric collection devices.
  • Facilitate the staffing of CCMD requests for FXD capabilities and support.
  • Provide input and assistance in the development of CCMD forensic policies and programs.
  • Brief technical forensic exploitation capabilities, requirements and efforts to support the CCMD.


Security Clearance: Current DoD TS/SCI


Education/Experience:  Bachelors Degree with ten (10) years of experience supporting the forensic and biometric community to include working for Intelligence and Law Enforcement agencies such as NGIC, the FBI, USACIL or other forensic laboratories; 10 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.   Experience in a deployed environment in support of a named operation is desired.  Experience in forensics evidence collection or site exploitation is desired.  Must have experience preparing and presenting technical reports, cases and briefings. Strong oral and written communication skills preferred.
